Moore College 4th Year went away together for the weekend.
If you’re interested in the content of Michael Jensen’s talks about God’s holiness and ours, it’s probably worth checking this out (start at the bottom).
For my money, the value of the talks was not that they told us a bunch of stuff we didn’t know before. Rather it was the way they pulled everything together and exposed the inner coherence of the Bible’s presentation of God: He’s the Holy One who chooses, in his holiness, to create and dwell with a people, sanctified ‘to declare the praises of him who called us out of darkness into his marvellous light’ (1 Peter 2.9).

I guess the overall tone for the weekend was set the moment Michael (tongue planted firmly in cheek) told all the spouses that this is it. This is the high water mark. We’re never going to get better — theologically sharper, more at ease with the biblical languages, or have a crisper sense of deep theological connections.
In short, it’s all downhill from here…
Turns out. He’s right. Before the weekend was even over, some of the guys had found a litle wheeled platform and were hurling themselves downhill — with predictable consequences!
