Some highlights from the last couple of days in tropical north queensland:
Crocodiles can cool their brains by opening their mouths and letting evaporation on their palate cool the blood flow.
The Mossman River is full of upstream granite. I love the way granite fractures and erodes to create really smooth boulders.
Really big insects are cool but slightly terrifying.
Some turtles can apparently breathe through their bottoms.
This is a scientific representation of a cassowary before and after being hit by a moving vehicle.
Rainforest trees are just really magnificent.
